Mentions of Brazil conjure up many things in people's minds, from the dense trees of the rainforest, to the wild currents of the Amazon, and the controlled insanity of Carnivale in Rio De Janeiro. If the new Milwaukee restaurant Sabor has its way, when people think of Brazil, they'll think of steaks. Sabor opened in the former home of Stout Brothers on Water Street in spring of 2006. A unique technique is used to cook the Brazilian steak served at Sabor. Developed by Brazilian cowboys who cooked the meat over their campfires, the meat is slowly roasted over a roaring fire. This way of cooking the meat is believed to give the meal more flavor. The Water Street restaurant succeeds in serving succulent cuts of steak in style. Enjoy some of the skewered meat with a wine from their extensive list. Sabor covers every corner of an excellent upscale restaurant, parking your car through their valet service and offering a hip design from which you can take in Water Street.

Sabor
Sabor, Milwaukeeâs only Brazilian restaurant, is becoming a Downtown favorite at lunchtime. The cheapest option is the salad bar, which has just dropped in price to a mere $9.95. Price reductions usually suggest cuts in quality, but this salad bar still reigns supreme: READ MORE @ www.expressmilwaukee.com

We've had dinner there a number of times. On one occasion, we had a dinner party for 16. There was an intense thunderstorm, we lost power, but they set up candles and the party continued. We had a TERRIFIC time.
An Experience
Yeah it may be a little costly, but boy if your a meat eater then it's well woth the trip. The meats that they served jsut melted in your mouth. The steaks were seasoned just right and done to perfection. A full course meal that didn't leave you wanting for more. You left full and you get your moneys worth. The only thing I wished for was a description of what was all on the salad bar, but live a little and enjoy the experience.
Worst managment I've ever seen

Me and my family have never been to Milwaukee, so like every tourist we were happy walking around and filming everything, we decided to have dinner at Sabor, a beautiful Brazilian Style Steakhouse, the ambience and decor are really nice and on my way to the table I was filming it so I could show it to my friends when I was rudely approached by the manager who kept on asking me CAN I HELP YOU, WHAT ARE YOU DOING, STOP FILMING, WHO ARE YOU, WHY ARE YOU FILMING, SHUT THIS OFF, kind of scared I reply that I was filming because the restaurant was beautiful. After this ridiculous incident he simply disappear and we never seen him again the whole night. The service was very good however we thought the price was way too expensive, I have been to many other Brazilian steakhouses that charge the same with a much bigger variety like shrimp, pineapple, beef rib, rib eye, etc plus a manager who cares about their costumers.
Also my 4 and 5 years old paid $65.00 for a few cheese breads and some salad WHAT A DEAL!!
Not for them to worry, they're not seeing me again.Very different dining
Sabor was great. However the price ended up being about $60 per person- we did have lots of drinks though. The pricing is per person and you don't order- just enjoy the salad buffet and they bring the meat around frequently. EVERYTHING was a taste explosion in your mouth. We got there early on a Friday in Aug and it didn't get crowded until after 7pm. Then it was really bustling. Very pretty bronze decor, open dining room, buffet was fabulous with smoky, grilled veggies and unique salads, great cheese. Little bread rolls were tasty and the meat was wonderful. They bring it around on skewers. There is everything- pork, beef, lamb and chicken. Great place but I would put it in the high priced category. Also, we never saw a menu with the price per person for the meal.
Excellent Dining Experience

Sabor is a great place to go with a group of friends and have great time with excellent food. They have a 1st course buffet that offers a nice mix of appetizers and salads. The main course offers a large variety (about a dozen) of meats served off the sword. Get ready for a taste bud explosion. The flavors were amazing - and the servers were wonderful. There was great debate with our group about which we liked best. There was also rice, beans, rolls, mashed potatoes, and grilled bananas. (Note - drinks and desert are extra.) I went with a group of 10 friends and it was great because they had a round table large enough to accommodate our group. We could all converse easily. Also we never felt rushed - it was very relaxing. AOL has it in the moderate price category...that may depend on your budget and whether or not you go for dinner or lunch. I would consider it a great deal for all the food and the quality. I think you can get the 1st course without the meat for less - it would be a great vegetarian option. They also have a 2 story wine room and great selection. We definitely plan to go back again.
