Nestled on the corner of Pierce and Center streets in Milwaukee's Riverwest area, this watering hole, formally known as Tony's Place, was the creation of Sean Rose and Kris Roberts. Drawing a young, eclectic crowd, as well as a few locals, River Horse opened in October 2002. The decor is especially hip with its chrome cocktail tables, funky overhead lighting and art deco-style bar. In addition, the vintage camera collection that sits atop the bar and black and white photographs displayed throughout spark even more visual interest. Offering a wide selection of beer both on tap and in bottles, River Horse is an ideal place to relax with friends without having to yell over the rockabilly that sometimes plays over the speakers. The back room, painted with electric blue flames, offers patrons a little privacy should the mood arise. -- Rachael Liska
