A 20-minute drive from downtown is well worth it if the destination is Milwaukee's best-kept secret. The classic building was erected in 1850, serving as a stagecoach station and, for the past 150 years, a tavern. Classic woodwork adorns the entire place and there are plenty of stools at the long, dark wooden bar. Tables and chairs are also plentiful in the main rectangular room where the bar once stood. In addition to extraordinary decor, the Landmark also boasts one of the largest tap beer collections around. Forty-nine different barley concoctions from all over the world are available for consumption. Members of the 'Suds Club' who have sampled all 49 (preferably not in one sitting) receive a mug and the pride that comes with such a major accomplishment. The staff is friendly, attentive and know their beer, and the crowd is a mix of young, old, regulars and those just looking for something different. If the address for this place were on the East Side, the Landmark surely would be bustling with youngsters most nights of the week, but its out-of-the-way locale is part of its charm.

Landmark is a great bar, here you will see young and old enjoying one of 50 great beers on tap. (My Favorite is Bitter Women from Tyranena.) Yes, it is the oldest tavern in Milwaukee and you can see that inside and out. They have kept the original look. This is a bar you need to visit more than once if you like different types of beer. What is nice is that they have a SUD Club card, with every beer you drink you get a punch for it. (not recomened that you do it all in one night.) After you recieve 50 punches on your card your recieved a German Stine with the Lankmark 1850 on it. Invite your friends out and have a great night at Landmark, and don't forget to try thier great pizzas!!
