George Webb is as much a part of Milwaukee as the Brewers or the lakefront; for generations, hardworking people have stopped in for a quick meal, cup of coffee or an after-bar breakfast with friends. The ever-present dual clocks have been there through it all, ensuring that everyone gets to their destination on time. George Webb is a perennial favorite for breakfast, eating alone and low-budget dining. From breakfasts of pancakes and eggs to the burgers that made them famous, George Webb is the quintessential Milwaukee diner. Each location is a little different, but the basic elements remain the same: a dozen small tables, a counter and stools near the kitchen, and tons of Formica, lights and strong coffee. Beyond that, the patrons set the scene. Favorites include eggs and hash browns for breakfast (or an after-hours snack) and Webb Burgers -- have them plain or slathered with cheese and fried onions. -- Allison Jornlin

  • Location, Location, Location!

    Review rating : 4out of 5   AMurph109 - 06/01/2008

There are 40 different locations for George Webb's - some good, some great, some, well they cater to the bar crowd and the third shift lifestyle.

Most, if not all are good food for the price, not off some steam table or such, and if you leave hungry, it's your own fault!

Having said this, there are other locations other then the one listed, and the person writing these reviews as a whole should get their backside off the upper East Side, and Downtown, where whatever you get is grossly over priced for what you don't get.

Webb's is consistand for good food, good prices, and open 24/7/365!
It's not trendy, it's not hip or stylish, but like your favorite shoes or that coat that fits you just right, it's there, open, and waiting to serve you at a moment's notice.

All in all, you really can't ask for more , can you?

If you are looking for creppes or pastries take your yuppi ass and go away. If you are looking for two sliders OE with white and ham at 2:00 A.M. sit down. Webb's has got it for you good, hot, and cheap. Just like it always has for years and years. Real Wisconsin Breakfast for real Wisconsin people. Who cares what you like in L.A.

  • Webb's is a Milwaukee Classic

    Review rating : 5out of 5   ducky12607 - 02/12/2006

Come on y'all, you've got to admit that Webb's is the best. Maybe the service isn't always that great, but the double clocks and greasy hamburgers are a staple of Milwaukee culture, as much as baseball, brats, beer and cheese. Don't even try to deny that you love that greasy, artery-clogging hamburger and steaming cup of burnt coffee!! :)

  • Worst dining experience ever!

    Review rating : 1out of 5   xstacinax - 08/25/2005

Went to the downtown Milwaukee location. The service was pathetic, and the food was nothing to brag about. I don't kow how this could be rated "City's Best." Do yourself a favor and dine elsewhere!
