This East Side Thai restaurant was a well-kept secret for a short while, but the news is out. The decor still leaves a little to be desired, but EE-Sane (pronounced "eee san," according to an employee) has won a large and loyal customer base. The grilled chicken satay appetizer is among the most popular, as are three alternatives of fresh rolls. If you eat vegetarian, entrees cost only $6 or $7. The green curry is excellent and pad thai noodles are light yet filling. And during any season of flu and stuffy noses, EE-Sane's coconut soup works better than Robitussin, especially if you choose "5" or higher on the spice meter. -- TS

xkwizit263 - 10/07/2002I have eaten here a few times this summer. The food is great, best thai I have ever experienced in Milwaukee. The big plus is the vegetarian dishes. A vegetarian can't go to many places where there are options, and the options are endless here. I live in Califofnia, and I am craving EE Sane!

centgraf - 05/25/2002IMHO, much better Thai than The King and I, and a lot cheaper. Try your dishes vegitarian - the tofu absorbs the intense flavor of the Thai spices and makes for a much healthier meal. Order to-go and the food is usually ready within 20 minutes. Order a couple 3s and a couple 7s for great party food.
