Johnny Carson once said, "happiness is finding two olives in your martini when you're hungry." If that's all it takes to be happy, imagine what nirvana awaits when there's a juicy slab of meat next to your glass. Eddie Martini's is both a '40s supper club and a legitimate steakhouse. The waitstaff wears white jackets, soft crooner music is playing really low and everything is just fine, baby.

The menu is heavy on steaks and chops, although seafood makes several welcome guest appearances in the form of salmon pinwheels with chevre risotto and planked walleye. Of course, lobster also takes its place. Sides come a la carte, with traditional choices such as creamed spinach and sauteed mushrooms alongside the more unusual baked sweet potato with cinnamon butter. The place just reeks of good taste and class; they even have a great wine list. Now get off your high horse and order some dessert. Chocolate mousse seems right. -- Jessica Zierten

Best service in the city. Not as expensive as you would think, and the entrees are very, very good. Give them a try for lunch, a little less expensive, but every bit as good.

  • Arrogant and weak

This restaurant is so overrated! The people that work there have such an air of snobbery and the food is mediocre. Won't go back when there are so many great restaurants around.
