One of the newest and most commodious of the area Red Robins, this is also one of the busiest in the chain. Like all locations, the decor is bright and cheery with plenty to look at -- such as televisions, carousel animals and, of course, fellow patrons. Anchoring the food court of Northgate Mall, the long sinuous room has big windows and high ceilings, perfect for suspending large model airplanes. One of Red Robin's hallmarks is the oversized, laminated menu, frequently rearranged and slightly altered so as to make you peruse the entire list with every visit. Some regulars go for same thing every time, such as the bacon cheeseburger, the Banzai burger (with teriyaki sauce and pineapple) or fish and chips. Others like to shake it up, with oriental chicken salad, French onion soup, or the Ensenada chicken platter. In deference to healthier diners, there's a lettuce wrapped burger that comes with a small salad instead of steak fries -- where's the fun in that? Speaking of fries, the key is to get mayo on the side and ask for them crispy: It takes a little longer but is well worth the wait.
