If they could bottle what they have going on here, they'd be millionaires. Oh, wait: They do bottle it, and the folks who founded one of Seattle's first brew pubs are millionaires. But the beer isn't the key to this thriving tavern's success. You can't beat the location, right across from Safeco Field. Better yet, you can't beat the food. That's the real reason that two hours before game time, the restaurant and the parking lot outside fill up like Hong Kong's Central District. You may want to stay away on game days, when Pyramid is more of an anthropological phenomenon than a culinary one. Try it for lunch instead, and stick to the inspired versions of pub food -- splendid burgers, great fish and chips, plate-busting salads and a grilled portobello-mushroom sandwich that would satisfy even the most committed carnivores. The beer ain't bad, either, especially the hefeweizen and apricot ale.

Mariners Game

Last week while on vacation in Seattle, tried the Pyramid Alehouse prior to the Mariners' game (the place in right across the street from Safeco Field). Would probably recommend going when a sports team is not in town. The bar was packed by 4:30 & they served a limited menu (actually wanted to try their fish tacos which was not on the menu). The three bean/chix chill was very good & the beer excellent (tried their signature brew, Heife-Weissen & the Curve Ball Ale). Staff friendly/service was good considering how busy they were. Overall good experience but again recommend going on a quietier nite.

I've been drinking Pyramid beer since 1995...so hanging out at the brewpub is a no-brainer. Make reservations early for a private room for your large group or in the main dining room for a group of 10. Plus, take a tour for some inside info and generous tastings! I love this place!
Good pub food

Perfectly good pub food right across from Taxpayer Stadium... and when the Mariners are out of town, it's easy parking. Beer's ok, too.
