Don't expect a flashy neon sign depicting the Statue of Liberty. This casual joint is more understated: Just look for the word "pizzeria." Once inside, though, everything from the Yankees memorabilia to the names of specialty combos confirms you're in the right place. The best seat in the house -- near the wide-screen television -- puts you under a framed replica of The Daily News, May 15, 1967, celebrating Mickey Mantle's 500th home run. In fact, you could be noshing on a Mickey Mantle (pepperoni, sausage, black olive, red onion) at the same time. The Garden has nothing to do with the pugilistic arts, but is the house version of the Veggie. For a faster ride, take The A Train or The Cyclone, with its kitchen sink of toppings. Crust is nice and flat, thin, not foldable, and flavorful in both white and whole-wheat versions. (Whole wheat makes it healthy, right?) If a whole pie isn't in the cards, get a couple slices of basic cheese and add whichever of the two-dozen toppings you fancy. There are several wines and beers (bottle and draft) to choose from. On the way out, help yourself to a red vine from the jar on the counter -- the staff sometimes puts out cookies, too.

Nice folks serving Great pizza, enjoyed every bit of our visit! The baseball card collection was a bonus.
AFTER TWENTY YEARS...
I HAVE FINALLY FOUND A REALLY GOOD PIZZA PLACE IN THIS TOWN. I LOVE THE STOOLS, FRIENDLY SERVICE, AND HUGE SLICES OF PIZZA. GREAT SELECTION, FABULOUS CRUST AND VERY FILLING. THEY EVEN SERVE WARM CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES, WELL WORTH THE VISIT TO THIS PLACE WHICH I UNINTENTIONALLY IGNORED ON 5TH AVENUE WHILE DRIVING FROM NORTHGATE TO I 5. THERE IS NO BETTER PIZZA IN SEATTLE. NONE.
NYC approved
I used to complain about Seattle not having any god pizza, but A New York Pizza Place proved me wrong. Being born and raised in Queens, NY, I know my pizza. NYPP buries the competition..*cough*Pagli@cci. Although I usually get plain cheese(in my opinion is the best tasting since nothing is covering up the flavor), NYPP has many toppings to offer. Their crust is perfect, not too thin, definitely not thick. Try and order a large pie. That way you know it's made fresh. They also have other pasta dishes I have yet to try.
The atomsphere has a rustic feel that goes well with the place. The owner is friendly as well as the staff. Oh, and how can I forget to mention they serve beer and wine? Pizza and beer...'nuff said!Great Find!
The pizza is Great. It's is as close to NYC pizza as I have found in Seattle. It also has a very friendly low-key atmosphere that is welcoming as soon as you walk in. Highly recomended for people looking to try something new.
