The New Age atmosphere at this sleek, serene vegetarian gourmet shop/restaurant is a welcome respite from the hustle-and-bustle of the city. Begin with starters such as spinach won ton soup, taro spring rolls, steamed vegetable dumplings and basil moo shu rolls. Entres have such exotic names as "Confetti-Land" (grilled wild mushrooms with new potatoes with mixed peppers, caramelized onions and fresh basil leaves) and "Jewel of Happiness" (minimushroom steaks atop a bed of mashed sweet yams with Szechuan garlic sauce). Since then there's long been a Zen Palate on Broadway between 77th Street: good tho crowded.
