When the kids demand ''rides and fun,'' but you don't feel like making the trek to Williamsburg's Busch Gardens, head to Ocean Breeze Water Park. Located about a mile from the oceanfront, this ''park'' comprises four independent entertainment areas that the youngsters will love. Wild Water Rapids features half-a-dozen water slides, ranging in difficulty from lazy to berserk. For the less adventurous, there are a wave pool, children's pool and inner tube rides.

After getting drenched, dry out by racing miniature grand prix cars at Motorworld. The faint-hearted can take things a bit slower on the Family Track or on various smaller rides and games. Budding sports fans will want to test their athletic skills at the miniature golf course and batting cages. At Shipwreck Golf, you can practice your putting prowess amid 36 holes of 17th-century war ships, waterfalls and other ocean-themed holes. The baseball-inclined can take their swings in the big-league caliber batting cages at Strike Zone. Entry to each section of Ocean Breeze must be purchased independently, but a ticket to Wild Water Rapids can get you half-off at Motorworld.
