It may not be like father, like son, but this was a favorite restaurant of George Bush Sr., while he was president (or at least the one that made the evening news). He had good taste. The restaurant's signature dish is its plump, juicy and scrumptious Peking duck. It's not inexpensive, but every morsel is succulent, and besides, the chef does it properly: It's carved tableside in the traditional manner. The other signature dish is the jumbo spring onions tossed with lamb (or beef, shrimp or pork). The onions and some of the other produce is grown at the restaurant owner's farm. Portions of most dishes are enormous, so count on taking home leftovers. It's best to come early or reserve ahead; this restaurant fills up fast and stays that way.

  • Horrible Service from Manager

    Review rating : 1out of 5   yazen - 01/29/2006

I think arrogance has become a trait at this resturant. We ordered over $200.00 worth of food. My cousin ordered chicken, thinking she was getting white breast meat. Instead, the chicken was dark, the inside was raw and when we asked the manager to please take it back. She said she would wrap it up for us. When we said it was horrible and we can't even eat it here, why would we take it home with us. She said "it is your decision but we will not give you a refund". I've never experianced anything like this before. We've been coming to Peking Gourmet for years but the last experiance will be our last.

Been going here for 14 years! The food is absolutely amazing every single time! The Peking Duck is the best i've ever had, and the pan fried dumplings are the die for. Great place for birthdays (u get a birthday song and free cheesecake and pic from the owner and waiters) and other special occasions. Gets busy though, so call ahead!
