When you're looking for plain and simple comfort food, Bob & Edith's Diner is simply the place to find it. One of the few all-night spots around, this eatery has been serving the late night and early morning crowd since 1969. You'll find nothing fancy about Bob & Edith's Diner. The grill is behind the counter, and booths line the walls. The menu is big on breakfast with a wide selection of eggs, hotcakes and waffles. Here you can unabashedly order American cheese on your omelet or indulge in white bread toast.

For lunch or dinner, the diner offers dozens of wholesome sandwiches and subs. If you want something hearty, you can enjoy a hot plate special such as Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes, meat loaf or fried chicken. What diner would be complete without a case of fresh pies? At Bob & Edith's you might want to skip the main course and go right for one of the sinfully delicious pies, all slices priced from $2.75-$3.25. There's a second location at 4707 Columbia Pike. -- Robbin Zeff

I have been eating at Bob and Ediths since 1976. Food was great, now I find it overpriced and awful. Vegetable soup tasted like v-8 with leftover canned veggies added, and the pies always taste stale abd dry. I have 2 14 year boys and they don't want to eat there anymore, what does that tell you!!!!!!!service is good, too bad the food isn't

My family and I love eating at Bob & Edith's on Sunday in the early morning. With three active children, they serve us up quickly and always with a smile. I've known the owner, Greg, for many years now and respect the hard work he has put into both of his locations.

    You Must Try B&E's!!
Breakfast at Bob & Edith's is a pleasure and a culinary delight. The food is ALWAYS fresh and well prepared and the wait staff just can't be beat. When Tom and I sit down, we are met by any one of several of our favorite waiters and, knowing that we always order the same breakfast, they bring it post haste. We just love this place and recommend it to all our friends.

I was born and raised in Arlington VA and this establishment has been around almost as long as I have. There good people w/great food and old fashioned manners. A quality long lost to the snot nose 20 something groups fo today. It's a place to get good food and see nice people. Hat's off to them for being here as long as they have. Thanks for serving my parents as well. LONG LIVE BOB AND EDITH'S!!!

The location near Four Mile Run has the most horrible service, food, and environment in the history of me eating out. I've had my fair share of late night eats. You want to head for the local IHOP. The food isn't cheap. Avoid the steak like the ebola virus strapped to a 2 ton charging monster from the black lagoon. Not only was it in cardboard form but I actually called the waiter up and knocked it up against the table for him to show the fact that my 21 year old teeth can't even remotely tackle the rock hard flesh from Hades.
Two sets of silverware were brought and both were dirty. The order was incorrectly placed. The waiter was no where to be found when the place wasn't very busy and the staff liked screaming across the floor friendly conversation while my mother and I paid for a meal that will drive me to homicidal impulses when I even think about it.
I have been a waitress before and are empathetic to people who work for tips but I gave a single penny for a tip.
They will have to pay me more than their over priced food to make me eat anything on their menu. I won't even ask for water as the glasses were filthy too.
The other Bob and Ediths is adequate and the late night staff is friendly. Their burgers are delicious and so are their milkshakes but the establishment is still trademarked very dirty.

Service was friendly, food was good (for a greasy spoon). Just be warned that smoking is allowed...and the space is small (so just a warning for the "smoking-adverse" crowd).
