The Dish: With the promise to offer authentic food with the flavor of the cowboy campfire of long ago, the Saltgrass Steak House is regionally known for not skimping on quality. All beef is 100 percent certified Angus. The steaks are served up topped with garlic butter and the restaurant's own Saltgrass Steak Spice (also available for purchase). Also on the menu are soups, salads, sandwiches, seafood and desserts. Sides include baked potatoes, Texas rice and sauteed veggies. One unique item is the Shiner Bock beer bread.
The Atmosphere: The Saltgrass Steak House is rustic looking and laid-back. It offers a chance to dine on quality steaks in a casual atmosphere. Our waiter was Brian M and he was great; well deserving of the 20% tip we gave him. But that is only one dimension of this multi-faceted steak house. The steaks are spectacular! I had the 7oz fillet, and it just so tender that I wanted to order a couple of more! The only knock is that the tawdry enviroment and uniforms take away from the spectacular service and food that you recieve at Saltgrass!

zanthra27 - 05/24/2004If you want a great steak, this is the place to go!!! I go to the one on I-10. Yes, it is a little loud, but not so much that you can't talk and enjoy your evening. It is pricey, but well worth it, the steaks have a flavor that can't be beat, and thier cheesecake is out of this world!!!! Keep it up Saltgrass, you have an A one business there!
