One of the nation's oldest jazz clubs, The Landing has become a virtual institution on San Antonio's famed River Walk. Featuring regular performances by owner and musician Jim Cullum Jr. and the renowned Jim Cullum Jazz Band, the club attracts jazz lovers from all over the country. In addition to fine music, The Landing offers a limited, yet impressive, menu. Consider the Landing crab cake sandwich, baked sea bass with paprika onion rings or that old standby -- the double-stacked Dagwood chicken sandwich. An adequate selection of accompanying wines and cocktails is also available. Diners can choose from seating on the River Walk patio or inside in air-conditioned comfort. This makes for a classy spot to impress a date. The interior of The Landing is tastefully mood-setting. Old photos of jazz greats on the wall, wood flooring, selectively diminished lighting and round tables resembling old records add to the jazzy atmosphere.
