More often than not, only yuppie business types or the avant-garde visit a mid-echelon sushi bar. However, Goro's Sushi allows the opportunity for a family or a younger (albeit still trendy) set to experience sushi without the pretentiousness. A local favorite, Goro's mixes the traditional sushi-bar setting with a romantically lit, sparser-than-usual dining atmosphere. You can sit at the sushi bar or, if you are with a larger group, grab a table. Goro's features a sushi happy hour Monday through Friday 5-8PM, as well as a substantial selection of beer and wine. The sushi is offered in many varieties, including the popular hamachi (yellowtail). You must of received your responses from mexicans whose tsaste buds have been tainted by so much hot mexican food. Sushi needs to be mad eby japanese trained japanese or at least Korea. Goros is bland and has no resemblence to japanese sushi. best suschi by far is FUJIYA Japanese Restaurant. They are authentic.

Redhot4970 - 06/17/2008My husband and I have traveled all over the country eating sushi everywhere we go and nothing beats Goros! Mike, Saoul, and Pollo are the best! We eat there at least once a week and believe me, it will be the most fresh, generous portion of sushi (for the money ) that you have ever had!

rpsslam1403 - 08/14/2007I've been going to Goro's for about 7 years now. I've tried all the other sushi retaurants in San Antonio, yes all, and Goro's has the best sushi for the best price. The service is always friendly and the atmosphere is perfect. Don't judge this book by its cover.

markyv77 - 01/17/2006What can i say about Goro's? I hated sushi before i went there. Now i am a regular, up to 4 times a week. The chef's creativity is amazing. The service and hospitality is awesome. Not to mention the atmosphere. And the food is delicious!!! Since i moved here to San Antonio , Goro's Sushi is my favorite resturant to eat. Goro's is the best. If you go tell them Mark Villezcas tells you to hook it up Mike!!!!
