Located in Alamo Heights, Crumpets has been offering continental food with a luscious scenic view for decades. The muted decor inside gives the restaurant a toned-down feel, but the food is peppered with French accents and sweet, buttery desserts. Outdoors, the live oak trees, pond and waterfall make patio dining a romantic experience. It is also ideal for small dinner parties.

Meal favorites include the Crumpets' Special Salad, the rack of lamb and New York Strip. The full bakery covers everything from pecan brownies and breads by the loaf to wedding cakes. Crumpets also offers an excellent brunch, as well as takeout and catering. -- Vanessa Smith

The food is good. The ambiance is nice. The scenery outside is very beautiful. The food was of the highest quality, and priced to be kind to your wallet. Great restaurant.

Needs a little help on romantic setting.

A sweet Soulful, Black female vocalist would be a great start.

Great staff. I will return again.

  • Great Food-Nice Romantic Place for the over 70 crowd

The food is good. The ambiance is nice. The scenery outside is beautiful. For some reason however, this restaurant is the place to hang if you are old money senior adult couple. Good restaurant. Not as romantic for younger couple when they are surrounded by grandparents.

  • Always Been the Best!

    Review rating : 5out of 5   ninicuellar40 - 05/26/2008

I have been dining at Crumpets for many years and have seen them change locations, as well as slightly modify the menu from time to time. This has always served to make a good thing even better! The food is always of the highest quality, and priced in a fair manner. The atmosphere and servers are always inviting, and when combined with the wonderful food make for an experience well worth seeking on a regular basis.

We eat out very often and Crumpets is the San Antonio restaurant that we enjoy the most . the menu is full of surprise, who else serve ostrich, bison , duck, plus many other dishes but the best is the trilogy (lobster, lamb, beef filet). The service is excelent but not over bearing,. The wine list has great choices all priced reasonably. Beautiful patio , great music, what else can you ask for? We will be back.

  • A diner to remember

    Review rating : 5out of 5   amgrey2 - 03/07/2006

We have been to Crumpets many time and have always enjoyed the experience but this last diner this past weekend was the best meal we have ever had any where.
The apettizer plate was fantastic(pate, smoked salmon.shrimp.heart of palm, etc, etc), for main course we all had the trilogy plate(lobster, lamb, beef tenderloin).....out of this world.
The wine list is priced well bellow average and has lots of choices. The decor is charming both inside and on the patio where live music is playing.

  • Expected Better

    Review rating : 1out of 5   tgolian - 02/07/2006

Salad dressing was great! Everything went downhill from there. Entertainment was a no-show. Waiter was not familiar with the wines. Main entrees very disappointing. Poor grade of tenderloin covered by excellent béarnaise sauce. Trilogy was not as expected - lobster was mushy and lamb only so so. Chocolate mouse was only OK - dry and little flavor. Maybe this was an off nite?? But our bill wasn't!!

we celebrated many special days at Crumpets. the food has always been fantastic ,so has the service .The decor and the ambience are very special ,nice and civilised, not too noisy.THe patio is charming with a nice little river.Great wine list, not too expensive. Try the trilogy plate it is out of this world and so are the deserts.
