Chester's boasts the "best burgers on both sides of the Pecos." From double hamburgers to green-chile cheeseburgers, this place may have a point. However, Chester's fame may have just as much to do with what you use to wash the burgers down. Featuring more than 200 kinds of beer, this local chain has quite a following. Of course, Chester's also has hot dogs and chicken sandwiches, as well as the usual sides (fries, onion rings, stuffed jalapenos and such). Got a business luncheon coming up? Try the popular banquet room. Lunch and dinner crowds are common in this rustic restaurant, but apparently the burgers and beer are worth the wait.

    Tried twice with consistent results. Chili cheese burger was barely warm and the chili was a watery gravy with almost no meat. The cheese was almost impossible to find. Onion rings were reminescent of the frozen stuff from Walmart and were grossly overcooked for good measure. How does anyone rate this place in top 10???

    The Chester store on 281 still ranks #1 with me. I have friends up in Washington state, that made that same decision on their own. That's where I eat my burgers.

    The only Chesters we've visited is in Universal City and I rate their burgers superior to any burgers in the UC/Schertz area. They are much better now that poppy seed burns are not used.
