Blue Star Brewing Co. is San Antonio's first full-scale brewpub. Located in the King William Historic District, this restaurant and bar is nestled in the Blue Star Arts Complex on the river south of town. In business since 1996, the bar offers a traditional pub atmosphere with a big show on the first Friday of every month. The stainless steel vessels and brewing facility rest cozily in what used to be an old beer storage warehouse. Patrons can sit on the outside deck or in the beer garden to enjoy Blue Star's signature handcrafted beers, ales and stout. Whether you drop by for lunch, brunch, dinner or just a brew, the warm wood decor makes for a comfortable and casual atmosphere.

Add CommentWhere's The Beer?
It seems everytime we've gone there recently, their selection is small and limited. The last time we went right before Christmas, they only had three beers to choose from and they were running out of certain foods...it was a Spurs night. What a bummer! It used to be a place I'd recommend to my friends all the time.
Good food & Big Band Sound
We were fortunate to be there on a Tuesday night while visiting San Antonio. The band playing for the evening played the Big Band sounds and they were wonderful. The saxophone musician, Todd and lady vocalist, Sharon were outstanding! (Hope I have the names correct.) Food was good at a fair price.

BLUE STAR IS A PLACE LIKE CHEERS. EVERYONE IS LIKE FAMILY. THE FOOD IS ALWAYS GREAT & THE SELECTION OF BEER IS FANTASTIC. I ALWAYS MEET NEW AND OLD FRIENDS. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!
GMP Prez's Review

The service was non existent. What little there was spent their time standing around. Left after waiting 45 minutes for a server. This was during a "non-busy" period. Until they improve, spend your money at some of the other establishments in the area, such as Rosario's, Mad Hatters Tea or China Latina.
