Barebones Tex-Mex cooking is the order of the day at Blanco Cafe. Family-owned and operated, Blanco Cafe will likely receive no awards for interior decoration. However, the real head-turners here are the prices and the generous portions. Tortillas are handmade daily and served liberally with a variety of dishes. From its popular breakfast tacos to complete Mexican dinners, Blanco Cafe remains a perennial favorite among the budget-conscious. The restaurant has developed a loyal customer base as a tribute to its consistently tasty food served in a family- friendly setting. There are several locations around town from which to choose. So pump a few coins into the cafe's jukebox and belly up to the table. Blanco Cafe is definitely worth a visit. -- Chris Jones

Blanco Cafe, to myself and my family is an excellent restaurant...I have had the pleasure of having breakfast and it was excellent. On my recent stay at University Hospital, my family went there on many occassions, I don't think other people should be saying ugly things about any restaurant, if they don't like , just don't go back..The service we had was a very friendly young lady, and courteous, and quick..Now who could as for anymore, good food, good service, Way To Go Blanco Cafe. Their enchiladas are great.. We live in McAllen, Texas, so thanks guys for taking such good care of us..

From a person that eat's out often , I always enjoy my breakfast while on vacation and on conferance's and found Blanco's Cafe to have excellent service and great Mexican food. Those giving this low ratings should stick to eating begels and cream cheese.

like previous reviewer, i wonder how is it possible for this place to be on anyone's list of acceptable places for breakfast or anything else! certainly should not be recommended as even just "acceptable". recently when serving on jury, i wanted to try it for breakfast before reporting to court house. after just a peak inside, i knew it was definitely not a place i would choose to eat - or even have a cup of coffee. i think whoever sponsonrs this site/vote page should submit names of people who compoees these "favorite" lists and the criteria why some rate above their competition. they sure can't be experts or very knowledgeable.

YUCK! WHO RATES THIS ANYWAYS? THIS PLACE WAS ON THE VERGE OF UNSANITARY! GET THIS YOU GUYS, THEY USE VELVEETA AND AMERICAN CHEESE! TALK ABOUT CHEESEY AND IT'S NO COMPLIMENT. THE RESTROOM LOOKED LIKE IT HAD VOMIT ALL OVER THE THE TOILET AND WAS OUT OF TOILET PAPER AND PAPER TOWELS. IT WAS GROSS. THE SERVICE LEFT MUCH TO BE DESIRED AND THE FOOD WAS ALMOST UNEDIBLE. I CAN'T IMAGINE WHO THINKS THINKS THIS PLACE HAS GREAT FOOD,HAS NEVER LEFT THE SAN ANTONIO AREA. I WOULD NEVER GO BACK AND MY FIRST PHONE CALL IN THE MORNING WILL BE TO THE HEALTH DEPARMENT. I PROMISE IF YOU SKIP THIS CAFE YOU WILL BE BETTER OFF. THE ENCHILADAS WERE ALL TORTILLA AND WHAT LITTLE CHEESE THEY DID HAVE WAS VELVEETA. THE BEANS WERE ON THE VERGE OF BEING SOUR ON THE FAJITAS, WELL LETS JUST SAY THEY RATED WITH THE BEANS.
