    bill millers is a classic favorite. the tea is awesome! just have to know what your eating and foreigners who are fat and ugly wont have a clue!

    This is not barbecue, the sauce tastes like watered down ketchup

    When I first moved here 12 years ago from the South I asked where was the best bbq in town. The reply was Bill Miller. What a joke, they don't even cook the bbq on site. Where I come from the smoke is pouring out of the chimney and the smell of bbq permeates the room when you walk in. The BBQ should be cooked for about a half a day and have the reddish hue created by the hickory smoke becoming one with the meat. Also, for all of you that think beef is the best, pork is truly a better recipient of the smoke and the taste is to die for. As far as sausage I say what is it made of and from and I would like to know. Next the BBQ sauce better be good and nothing like some of the local catchup, molasses, sugar, and spices. I am talking about a spiritual event. and most places in town are not any event. I say if you can buy better in the store than you should not be selling it,

    So San Antonio, where do you go for BBQ well there are average Rudy's which is at least real but I suggest heading straight out of town for any good food. Most of the food outside of Mexican is simply mediocre at best. Ignorance is bliss.

    I have eaten at Bill Millers for 20+ years. I have to have it whenever I pass their spinning sign. The poorboys are tasty and their fries are homemade. I have actually toured their facility where they cook the meats overnight in huge ovens. Everything is home made, and they deliver their food every morning in delivery trucks. They are known for the brownies and Iced tea. The sweet tea is addicting and refreshing.
    If you want great barbecue for a great price, GO TO BILL MILLERS!

    Bill Miller must be the stingiest restaurantuer in American fastfood-dom. If you're just looking for calories and cheap food, then go through the drive-through, grab a po-boy and wolf it down. If you are looking for anything close to BBQ-then head elsewhere. Anywhere. Back in the day, when Bill was trying to gain a share of the market-much more attention was given to providing decent food at fast food prices. Then Bill expanded, and expanded, and expanded. As Bill expanded, the quality? of food deteriorated, and then Bill did the most "Un Texan"-no, make that the most un SOUTHERN thing imaginable (and in a BBQ restaurant at that)-he started charging for refills on his "famous" iced tea, because it was "so popular" and customers were draining poor Bill with their incessent demands for refills. Yeah, I see you working BIll-a glass of tea costs six cents a glass to make. You charge $1.39 for iced tea, and then .50 cents for refill. Note to Bill: You're tea isn't THAT good. I stopped going there when I realized two things: Brisket cutting guy was handling brisket with his bare hands and putting it on my plate, and you decided to up the price for tea and then charge for refills. Note to Bill. When I want good iced tea, I go to McAllisters. When I want good BBQ I go to Rudy's. When I want to grab calories, I just grab a Protein bar. Can't believe San Antonian's still fill Bill's coffers. Another sad commentary on the city. Note to naive San Antonians: Go to Grady's and get a much better meal for the same price-and tea that's just as good-and you get refills.

    I got a chopped beef and it smell of arm pit odor so bad I threw it away. Thinking it maybe a one time thing I went back and still the same thing. I tried getting something else and it was worse. This place is really bad. The place is also very nasty,I would never go into one again.

    Bill Miller's Q is good, fast, cheap, and satisfying. It's the McDonalds of local BBQ.

    I've been in San Antonio for 20+ years and cannot for the life of me understand what the big draw of Bill Miller's is. That is until I realized that we are now in a society that thinks that Taco Bell is Mexican food, Pizza Hut is great pizza and something that you toss into a microwave and nuke for 3 minutes is home cooking. It's the era of low expectations and chain restaurants. I actually saw a review of a true bbq joint where the reviewer's big complaint was that he had to wait 10 minutes to get his/her food. People want don't seem to care as much about quality of food rather, they want the instant gratification of stuffing something into their gullet and feel satiated. Now for the review of Bill Millers. I have eaten at several different locations and find that they are worse than bad bbq. They are so bland and plain that they are nondescript. Bill Millers exists for the sole purpose of giving people another choice between Taco Bell, McDonalds, KFC or Pizza Hut. I cannot even bring myself to call it bbq. But, they are making huge money due to our quest for the as ordinary as possible, served quickly as possible mass produced dining substitute.

    Being a Missouri boy it may not be fair to judge this "BBQ" but just so people know what to expect that don't know Bill Millers or Texas style BBQ; Texans do know how to smoke brisket. But that's what you should expect, smoked brisket. Oh and that runny orange stuff they call sause, yeeeesh! So if you want real BBQ your going to either have to make it yourself or wait until a real BBQ joint opens up in San Antonio. Anyone know of one?
