If you don't like chicken, you're going to have a hard time finding something to eat at Cathy's Wok & Grill. This restaurant probably has more chicken on the menu than every other restaurant on the block combined. Incidentally, there are a few other animals on the menu, along with plenty of meat-free dishes. Of course, if you like chicken, and particularly if you're the health-conscious type, Cathy's will be like paradise. When you walk into the restaurant, you can step right up to the counter and start checking out the menu, complete with nutritional information. The pictures of food, which litter the walls, will even give you an idea of what your dish will look like. If you're used to the heavy, greasy Chinese food that comes out of most takeout joints in those funny little boxes, the food from Cathy's will be a reawakening. Everything on the menu, including chow mein, sweet and sour, egg foo yung and a number of Thai dishes, comes prepared light and tasty. None of the entrees will weigh you down. -- Bryan Lindsey

    I've wondered how they come up with our choices for best places- Cathy's Wok has been sold for almost a year now.
    We used to have such an addiction to their Seseme Chicken. It used to be great.

    This was our favorite for years---Now it it so bad we don't go anymore. We have tried thinking it was a bad day--but cotinues to be bad!!! Sorry

    We used to order Cathy's Wok all the time. In the past year, though, the food has become less and less consistent. In fact, each time we've ordered it recently, the sesame chicken (one of the dishes they are known for) has been ridiculously overcooked, chewy, and devoid of sauce. It tasted more like grease than the tangy sesame sauce that they once prepared so flawlessly. I don't know who is doing the cooking now, but whoever it is has absolutely no idea how to cook Chinese food. In addition, last time I ordered, I asked for a side dish of broccoli and carrots. They said they would not cook a small order for me, that I must order a full dinner of broccoli and carrots, which was about $8--what a rip-off! I will find another Chinese restaurant to support. Horrible!

    the food is gross. the last time i went there there was hair in my food and i saw rats. ive owned restarautns before and the pee stains in the bathroom, the mea thtat is left out *its visible near the soda machine* is not chilled in ice like its supposed to, and where i sat reeked of a aquariam smell. i even saw sevrel employees pull out the areas and douse it in bleach and mention in spanish "there is a dead rat and droppings" . do not ever eat there. ever

    We went to this place because it was listed in D mag as best. I asked myself do these places pay D mag for the listing because I would never go back. WHY DO THEY KEEP GETTING GOOD RATINGS?

    I have been going to this restaraunt for many years (diiferent locations). The food was very good a long time back but has been on a decline for years. The chicken is overcooked, the meat fatty, a shame since I still live close to the Frankford location and enjoy a Sesame Chicken now and then.

    I am writing this in hopes that ownership reads this constructive critisism in order to correct possible problems.

    My husband I went there based on the recommendation from CityGuide - the retaurant was not clean and the food was not good at all. This made me reconsider these recommendations at all. They must be based solely on advertising dollars spent in City Guide. I've noticed that some of the best steak houses are never mentioned - and this experience with Cathy's just confirmed my suspicion. Don't waste the gas to go to Cathy's!

    My husband and I went here a week ago and for the most part it was awful. We did have good steamed dumplings but the chicken was hard and the beef was chewy where you couldn't even swallow it.

    DO NOT RECOMMEND!
