One of Houston's most popular and notorious nightclubs, Numbers has been hosting a variety of great bands and dance music since 1978. The Village People, Nine Inch Nails, Elliot Smith, Snoop Dogg and Paul Oakenfold are among the artists who have played at Numbers, along with some of the best local and regional bands in genres from pop to punk. Five nights a week Numbers draws an all-ages, alternative crowd, with top progressive DJs. Tuesday is sometimes Swing Night (check the schedule), but Thursday is eternally Goth Night and Friday is the famed '80s Night with the immensely popular 50-cent Shiner. Numbers offers a roomy dance floor and two giant video screens that flash remix videos, created especially for this Houston institution. Done dancing? Shoot some pool, play a video game, or relax and check out the scene from the second floor "quiet bar" that overlooks the stage and dance floor. -- Chase Hamblin

  • Good Music

    Review rating : 3out of 5   Queststar7 - 08/24/2008

I have been going to #'s for many years. I can say that the Bathrooms really do suck! The little lesbo that is a barback is rude as hell!
And it takes 30 minutes just to get a drink sometimes!
But, it is the only club in Houston with the best Music!

  • The best of the 80s remixed with Wes Wallace doing what he does best...

    Review rating : 5out of 5   Modesinfinity - 06/28/2008

There are many clubs in houston..Not Many Older than Numbers..that has brought Many Bands,Single acts or moreso..the feeling..depth..passion of underground dance music of the 80s and 90s music to the forfront.. Dj Wes Wallace is the premier dj with talent and ability to transend the genres of 80s and 90s new wave,pop,trance,techno,house..and blend them all together. His perfect ear allows him to let people of all ages injoy and take in mew genres of music. If You come to Houston to find A DJ that will play many genres of music from diff eras...You cannot miss DJ Wes Wallace. Unlike many popular dj's, Wes, welcomes requests of fans..His ability to take a request and mix it with a battery of songs...makes him a local legend. There is no club or no dj In Houston that can spin/mix 80s music like WES. One night at Numbers and you will never go to another club.Wes is knowledgeable and has talent so endlessly that he can mix the old with the new without a skip. He can hear the sounds that make you fill the dance floor. When Wes spins...you never go home feeling like you got cheated. This is Houstons' most under rated dj. If you are in town..head to #'s...See how a real passionate dj spins. I dont..wont go to clubs..but when I do.. I go to #'s. Ch33rs™©

  • Some things do not change nor should they...

    Review rating : 4out of 5   Creole Rizada - 06/27/2008

Numbers... Wow! If those walls could talk!!! It has not changed either inside or out. I have been going there since the early 90's. Even as an "older" woman, my friends and I still go for 80's (early 90's) night on Fridays on occassion and reminise about the days when we would drive all the way from south Houston to go there. I have seen artists for under $15.00 (90's) that I cannot see for under 10X the amount now, Nine Inch Nails. Yes, go to the bathroom beforehand... Still as nasty as I remember it..

  • if you cant handle it go home!

  • What a shit-hole!

The place is a freakin' dive, the bathrooms are a health hazard and the parking NAZIs are silly little boys with apparent penis envy.

  • great

    Review rating : 5out of 5   iamneattt - 11/03/2007

I went November 2nd to see Of Montreal and I was concerned at first because of the reviews about bad A/C and etc... The night club had big fans around the ceiling that blew air on the crowd and the temperature was perfect. It was not smoky at all, there's a patio for smokers outside. My friend said the bathrooms were pretty gross so I would suggest going before you come. But overall the nightclub was a great venue and the show was amazing. You get a great view and good audio.
    Numbers is great :)

  • Great Place!

    Review rating : 5out of 5   mzpinkgr33n - 07/07/2006

If I think about it I never visited the restrooms but well I love the place. Great for hanging out with your friends. Love the music on Friday nights the 80s rock! Love seeing my favorite bands perform live for such a reasonable price! I consider this place for anyone who loves 80s and wants to see kewl bands perform! Numbers Rocks my Socks! As for the teenager view well its better for them to hang there then out on the streets. As long as you mind your own business not causing mischief your fine!

  • Great concert venue BUT.......

    Review rating : 2out of 5   lurcky - 07/07/2005

Last night I was at Numbers for a concert and the AC was off, the credit card machine was down at the bar, and my friend's car got towed because some a-hole was running a scam around back. The ONLY reason I do give it two stars is because it is a great venue for seeing your favorite bands up close and personal and the competent bartenders pour the drinks up nice and strong. If only they would throw a little money into the place to spruce it up a bit. It's pretty bad when the band (a national recording artist) is actually thanking us for staying despite the heat.

  • Tough call

    Review rating : 1out of 5   grimmphreaker - 02/22/2005

See, this place has awesome shows. However, the venue itself is THE biggest piece of crap in Houston. The bathrooms are disgusting, the A/C sucks, and parking is terrible. If you dont want to get hepatitis, I wouldnt touch a damn thing in this place.
