The Far East comes to Houston at Fung's Kitchen Chinese Restaurant on the Southwest Freeway at the corner of Bellaire Boulevard in Sharpstown. The chefs at Fung's have over 30 years combined experience creating authentic Hong Kong dishes based on ancient Chinese recipes. Start with a bowl of crab and asparagus soup or plump dumplings (steamed or fried). That will give you time to read the menu, and read you will for there are more than 400 choices! You'll find the usual offerings, but Fung's is steps away from the ordinary throughout the impressive menu. Try their green mussels from New Zealand, served in a delicious Sate sauce, or the Maine lobster blended into a luscious cream sauce over tender shrimp. The restaurant resonates with good taste throughout its warmly decorated interior, which features a spacious main dining room and five private rooms for parties of 20-70 guests. The decor is a mix of modern and ancient Chinese styles highlighted by linen-draped tables and matching chairs, enormous gold dragons on the walls and soft lighting. Fung's prices are very reasonable considering the selection, and catering and take-out are available, as are faxed and online reservations. A second location, Fung's Kitchen Chinese Cafe, is located at 2705 Town Center Blvd. in Sugarland. -- Lyn Foster

My Fav

I started going there about 6 months ago, based on a tip i got when i attened a get-together which was composed mainly of chinese-americans, dont go with the fried rice, its too moist when they fry it-sticky. the seafood is good, but if youre not familiar with the menu, or ingredients, go with one of the noodle entrees
Add CommentHorrible, gruesome

The worst restaurant ever. Food was over price and not worth it. Very small portions, flavorless. The special fried rice was lousy. Small drink cups. When the check came it showed 6 drinks since they don't give you free refills. Went with a group of 20+ and no one was satisfied. Will never ever return. Save your money and time do try it.
Authentic and Fresh

walking into this establishment, you know you are going to be eating good! the staff is friendly...ratings on this place need to definetly go up!! Or Houstonians need to learn about this place!!

Sunday Dinner

We visited this place this past Sunday, place is clean and staff is fast and withit. The mongolian was good but I expected more with the plate for the price, their rice is terrible very sticky. Was not impressed overall.
Good Dim Sum

I'm from out of town, and went to Fung's on a Saturday morning, based off a review I read on houstonpress.com. I got there at 10:30, and there were a few people there, but by the time I left at 11:30, the place was packed. The service was fast, the food was fresh, with lots of selection to choose from. The prices were also reasonable. I'd recommend it for any out-of-towners looking for a good dim sum restaurant.
??
My mom and I took my sister to Fung's for her birthday. Service was great. The mongolian beef was to die for. You could cut it with a knife.
Will definitely go back.
