Italy by way of Brooklyn: Pies, calzones, eggplant parmigiana.
Welcome to Antonio's. Our food is cooked to order. It takes a little longer and tastes a lot better, so please be patient. Italian cooks have long been masters of the kitchen, creating culinary perfections that tempt the eye and please the palate. They embellish an ordinary meal with such drama and flourish that it becomes a masterpiece. One of the most outstanding characteristics of Italian cooks is their high regard for the food itself. Each tomato, cheese, and cut of meat or portion of seafood is savored for its own merit. Ingredients are often purchased daily to maintain the freshness they demand. Antonio brought with him to Houston many years of experience in Italian cooking. All the pride and care that is typical of this Mediterranean country is evident in each delightful dish that you will enjoy at Antonio's Ristorante Italiano. Serving in Houston since 1971.Visit Citysearch.com

In Short
The trattoria-inspired decor is whimsical and interesting and the atmosphere is casual and unpretentious, making Antonio's a great family spot. It's the kind of place where you shouldn't be surprised if the pizza-makers behind the counter toss a ball of dough to your kids to play with. This little slice of Brooklyn features authentic New York-style pizza, as well as calzones and generous portions of basic red-sauce Italian food.

  • Best Pizza Ever!.

We've been eating at Antonio's since 1975. We drive in from Spring, a 60 mile round trip and well worth the drive. We have NEVER found any other pizza to measure up to Antonio's. Most of the staff has been there for years and they treat repeat customers like family when they walk in the door. It is a great place to carbo load before the Houston Marathon too! Congratulations to Marlena on the birth of her daughter - Antonio's first grandchild!

  • AN OK PIZZA

PIZZA WAS GOOD BUT NOT THE QUALITY I WAS EXPECTING. I THINK I STILL WILL STICK WITH SBARROS PIZZERIA. THEY GOT THE BEST QUALITY PIZZA IN MY OPINION.

  • worth the drive

i ate here a couple of weeks ago the food was good but not as great as i had hoped...for the best New York style pizza i have to choose Romano's but Antonio's is still a good pie.

  • Best Pizza in Houston!

    Review rating : 5out of 5   msapalio - 04/24/2006

I grew up and lived in the Northeast before moving to Houston. I was surprised to find so many restaurants in Houston offering "pizza" and other "authentic" Italian items on their menus. I was excited. Until I tried them. It was food that only a Southerner could endure.

However, then I found Antonio's. This is real Italian!! The way I remember the thin, crispy crust. Wonderful sauce. Not too much cheese. Spicy pepperoni. Perfect!! The entire menu is authentic Italian and so is the owner. No cheap imitations here. If you want real Italian that won't break the piggy bank, this is the place to go.

  • Still my favorite for 23 years

It's a long drive but when I want it right, this is worth it. When I moved here in 79, there were only a half dozen authentic pizza places in Houston. I'm not including the pizza chains. Antonio's was the only one worth the drive from Jersey Village and years later, it still is.

The pizza with the house salad and rolls is worth the drive from the Woodlands. I have been eating there for over thirty years.

  • Unpretentious and honest

Antonio's attains its goal to offer good food at unexpensive prices. Decor and service are basic, but the pizza is one of the most authentic italian offerings in town. Dishes in the menu are quite simple, yet tasty.
