Italy by way of Brooklyn: Pies, calzones, eggplant parmigiana.
Welcome to Antonio's. Our food is cooked to order. It takes a little longer and tastes a lot better, so please be patient. Italian cooks have long been masters of the kitchen, creating culinary perfections that tempt the eye and please the palate. They embellish an ordinary meal with such drama and flourish that it becomes a masterpiece. One of the most outstanding characteristics of Italian cooks is their high regard for the food itself. Each tomato, cheese, and cut of meat or portion of seafood is savored for its own merit. Ingredients are often purchased daily to maintain the freshness they demand. Antonio brought with him to Houston many years of experience in Italian cooking. All the pride and care that is typical of this Mediterranean country is evident in each delightful dish that you will enjoy at Antonio's Ristorante Italiano. Serving in Houston since 1971.Visit Citysearch.com

In Short
The trattoria-inspired decor is whimsical and interesting and the atmosphere is casual and unpretentious, making Antonio's a great family spot. It's the kind of place where you shouldn't be surprised if the pizza-makers behind the counter toss a ball of dough to your kids to play with. This little slice of Brooklyn features authentic New York-style pizza, as well as calzones and generous portions of basic red-sauce Italian food.

Pizza maybe great, but not the owner. Our family use to eat @ Antonio's 2-4 times a month. My kids love to eat there. One weekend we went in with a party of 11. There were other large partys that night. Our bill was very large(no big deal and we left a $70 tip). As we got up to leave Antonio himself stopped my husband and told him we were not welcomed back if we had a large party. We could not believe our ears! He said that large partys caused him to lose money. It makes me sad to think that my kids will never get to eat @ their favorite pizza place.

The food here is fabulous but I will never give Antonio another dime of my money. I was there with a large party awhile back. After having a great dinner, as usual, the owner insults our group b/c in his opinion our party was too large & he lost money by not being able turn more tables. No problem butthead - you lost the patronage of 5 families who will never darken the door of your restaurant again. What a shame!

  • My first intro to bacon on a pizza

I started going to Antonios YEARS ago and it was my first introduction to having bacon on my pizza. What a hit! Wonderful flavor. I used to take my parents when there when they were alive and my daughter (now 26) ued to love it as a child when they tossed the pizzas high ih the air and then at one of the eagerly waiting kids. Great place, great fun and great pizza and I can't wait to move back from NJ next year to experience it all over again. (Though they DO have great pizza in NJ).
