By all appearances, the original Snuffer's on Greenville Avenue is just another burger pub. The restaurant serves hamburgers and sandwiches, and features a fully bar stocked with plenty of liquor, beer and wine. But there are a few oddities that make this place unique. The first unusual thing you may find at Snuffer's is the cheese fries -- they're just so good that you simply can't visit this place without trying them. The second unusual thing you may find at Snuffer's is a hazy, ghost-like entity walking through the corridor from the main dining room to the garden dining room in back. All of the employees at Snuffer's know about it, and if you ask them, they'll simply explain to you that the place is haunted. Snuffer's opened up in 1978, and early on there was a conflict resulting in a death in the lady's room. Perhaps that unfortunate restaurant patron really liked the place. Of course, even if you don't see the ghost, you can still have a good plate of cheese fries. -- Bryan Lindsey

  • The Greatness Of SNUFFER'S!!!

    Review rating : 5out of 5   Konor2399 - 05/30/2008

Without question, the best burgers and fries on the planet. While not a big cheese fan, I am here to tell you that the plain basket of fries is nothing short of ideal fare to accompany a classic burger. Then again, the fries also go quite well with the spicy battered chicken strips. Mmmmm Good stuff.
I occasionally dine at the Plano, Preston-Center, Highland Village, and Southlake locations, and always get wonderful service and food. However for the ultimate Snuffer's experience I have to say that there is nothing like going to the Addison location on the night of a big game (ex: Stanley Cup Playoffs), sitting at the legendary "Table 22", and enjoying a burger, fries, soda, and a chocolate shake.
So here's to Pat, Steve, Frank, and Mike; for bringing the perfect restaurant/hang-out to the Dallas area.
    TOP 10 Things About Snuffer's:
    10. Atmosphere
    9. Convenient locations.
    8. Open late on weekends.
    7. Two words; "WAIT STAFF" (There are some seriously
    hot Snuffer's Waitresses.)
    6. It's just one of those super comfortable places.
    5. Chocolate shakes.
    4. Lots of big-screen TV's for watching sports.
    3. Spicy-Battered Chicken Strips & Fries!
    2. A Classic Burger (pain: Mean & Bread only, Medium)
with a basket of fries, and a coke.
    1. Did I mention the waitresses... :)

  • Good fries.

The cheese fries here are great. However, if you want a great burger, this is not the place for you. There are so many special burgers that they can't get a regular one correct.

Snuffer's is pretty good. I have been to the original as well as Addison, Plano, and Flower Mound (or is it Highland Village) locations. Would have rated it 5 star but when I ate at the Placo location my burger tasted like a salt mine.

  • My View

    Review rating : 3out of 5   Aceg1402 - 05/16/2008

Actually I have never been to this place but I rated it good just because no restaurant is perfect. You might get a disease from just about anywhere. If there would have been a Veggie Burger Option I would have rated that BEST for health, the Earth, TASTE, the Animals and, last but not least, for the starving people of the world.

  • GREAT

My husband and myself have been going there since the early 80's and we love eating there.. Really liked it when it was small... They have made it larger to be able seat more people... The best in town... Stay with us and never close!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Absolute Best

Snuffer’s is obviously not for the whiney, sissy, wimpified teenagers of today. The brats that have been brought up on bottled water, tofu, energy drinks, their parents' credit cards and low-fat everything can't possibly appreciate what makes a burger great. And those poor patrons that expect anything other than "medium rare" should go someplace else. But those of us who are true burger aficionados, and have been coming down lower Greenville since the late 70's, know what makes Snuffer's great. The Cheese fries that were invented here, the medium rare to rare burgers with Swiss and American cheese together and the great waitresses working their way through school. BTW, the house chef salad is the best in town if you can't take the beef. Never the less, for my money, this is the best burger in town.

  • just a teenager...

    Review rating : 1out of 5   woodsy2613 - 03/01/2007

okay so some of my guy friends insist on eating at Snuffers after every basketball game, which is when we all socialize. All of the food is greasy and just gross. Even the salads were greasy. It was disgusting, and usually i love food like hamburgers and cheese fries (or just food in general), but this was just way too much grease to handle. I could feel my arteries clogging with each bite.

  • no way

There is no way you like this place, I had a rare cold burguer and under cook fries besides the poor service and the roaches around the wall and bench, didn't complain 'cause the person I was with like the place so much but WON'T be back there ever, this was at NW Hwy and Preston location.
