By all appearances, the original Snuffer's on Greenville Avenue is just another burger pub. The restaurant serves hamburgers and sandwiches, and features a fully bar stocked with plenty of liquor, beer and wine. But there are a few oddities that make this place unique. The first unusual thing you may find at Snuffer's is the cheese fries -- they're just so good that you simply can't visit this place without trying them. The second unusual thing you may find at Snuffer's is a hazy, ghost-like entity walking through the corridor from the main dining room to the garden dining room in back. All of the employees at Snuffer's know about it, and if you ask them, they'll simply explain to you that the place is haunted. Snuffer's opened up in 1978, and early on there was a conflict resulting in a death in the lady's room. Perhaps that unfortunate restaurant patron really liked the place. Of course, even if you don't see the ghost, you can still have a good plate of cheese fries. -- Bryan Lindsey

I noticed most of the reviews mention the cheese fries (which are very good), chicken strips...and not much else. Snuffer's reputation as THE burger place is complete hype. They are OK, above average, but no more. Lots of variety on the menu, lots of options to their signature items, but when it comes to the bugers, it's definitely a case of their local fans yelling the loudest.

Singmomcat - 06/27/2008Snuffer's not only has the best burgers in town, they are the only place that will really make your burger exactly the way you want it. They are big and messy, but when you're craving a great burger you don't mind wearing a little of it home! If you can't make it to Greenville location, the one on Midway in Addison is great too!

Amymba05 - 06/13/2008Snuffer's Cheese fries are awesome. Just went there last week and was in heaven. Didn't know there was a ghost...that's scary! I eat their marinated chicken strips and they are wonderful too. Good ranch for dipping. I highly recommend!
