Continental Cuisine located in the Historic Brewery Building
The West End Historic District's first upscale restaurant, Newport's Seafood & Steak, opened in 1983. The concept is simple. We purchase our fresh fish from brokers on all coasts every single day. We prepare it with simple elegance and serve it with sincerity, honesty and pride. The concept seems to work, because Newport's Seafood & Steak has thrived for 26 years in Dallas, the city with the most restaurants per capita in the country. We are conveniently located across the street from the AAC & House of Blues. Try the exquisite steak and seafood, the acclaimed key lime pie or the recognized wine selection--"Award of Excellence" bestowed by Wine Spectator (1996-2009)--and experience a warm, casual dining atmosphere at Newport's Seafood & Steak.

In Short
This luxury-liner setting still holds clues from the pre-Prohibition days; the enormous beer well is flanked by a model ship. Burnt-umber walls, gold accents and crisp white tablecloths spruce up the restaurant. The interior acts as a warm, come-in-from-the-cold feel, while the food evokes the choppy seas of Maine. The jalapeno marinade spikes a scallop seviche. A menu favorite is the tarragon-flecked lobster bisque, while the tangy Key lime pie is a popular dessert.

Newport's is consisently great!

My family and I always go to Newport's if we are celebrating a special occassion. The meal is never rushed, the service is always excellent, and they serve the freshest & best seafood in the metroplex. Highly recommend!

Newport's is the BEST!!!
Out of all of the wonderful restaurants in Dallas, Newport's is the cream of the crop. Continuously serving the highest quality food and offering the best service around, Newport's has stood through 25 years of fickle customers. The amazing atmosphere with the 30-foot wide artesian well, the 150 year old building with original wood floors, the excellent wine list, and mesquite grill give it something that no other establishment has...character. You will not leave unhappy.
Philip's Review
My wife wanted seafood for our anniversary and a friend recommended Newport's. I owe him. We went early on a Monday so there was no crowd. The service and food were OUTSTANDING. The Sashimi appetizer was excellent. For the main course it was hard to pick but I decided to settle on the Grilled Prawns with Roasted Pepper Risotto. WOW! The Risotto was some of the best I've ever had. My wife was equally pleased with the apple Tilapia. As a previous Reviewer recommended the Key Lime Pie, my wife went with that. ( I had to try a bite) We both agree that it was the best we had ever had.

My wife and I had just arrived in Dallas that afternoon. The restaurant was suggested and after eating at Newport's, we were so happy that we took that suggestion. The atmosphere and the building itself made impressions on us as soon as we walked in. Beautiful layout. The food and service were both superb! This time was only a visit to Dallas, but as we will soon move there, we will undoubtedly make Newport's one of our favorite places to go for a wonderful, romantic evening.

As a native New Englander, I was very impressed with both the freshness and preparation of the food. The scallops with smoked salmon was first-rate, and the key lime pie was the best I've ever had. The wine list is well-chosen and VERY reasonably priced. Also the service was friendly yet unobtrusive. Great place place for a fun unpretentious dining.
