As one of the area's oldest dance clubs, the Lizard Lounge has accrued quite a bit of name recognition over the years, with the eternal notoriety translating into constant crowds. So how has the joint with the sleaziest-sounding moniker managed to weather the unceasing storms of trend shifts and genre-jumping? Turns out the sleazy-sounding moniker is an incredible asset, rightly designating the place as a prime pick-up bar, although other major pluses include cheap drinks and the fact that it also holds its own as one of the city's best venues for national music acts. The Lounge is rendered considerably more somber on Thursdays and Sundays, when hundreds of local goths convene on the premises for "Church" night, the club's bi-weekly celebration of all things dark and beautiful (as well as one of the few events in the city where one can hear Thrill Kill Cult).

Boring. This joint is a has-been. It is so passe. Don't waste your time on this DUD. IT IS RETRO IF OUTDOOR BATHROOMS ARE RETRO.

Not the place to go if you're looking for older men, but awesome after 1:00am when the hip hop comes on with the techno!!! Good atmosphere, clean, but not on the dance floor. This is the place to go if you're looking to get down and dirrty on the dance floor!!!

Saturday Nights are the nights to go. Andy Szontagh blows the Video Bar up, And Funk W blasts the main room to outer space.
