The Landing may have lost some of its pull, but it still retains some of the mystique that made it famous in the days of its late bartender Lucille. Its sense of nostalgia is evident in the charming, outdated decor and jukebox. Regulars from the M-streets, as well as younger-generation bar hoppers, appreciate its cavernous coziness and pristine cocktails. Those feeling a bit hungry won't be disappointed in the burgers, nachos and chicken-fried steak. And for those not distinctly bovine eaters -- veggie burgers and fries will please. If eating bar food is not your idea of a good time, you can always burn off those calories in a game or two of pool. Look for the mermaid mural on the outside of the building -- you'll know then that youre in the right place. -- John Vega

The kind of place where you don't even have to ask for your favorite drink... It will be waiting for you when you sit down...

The Lakewood Landing is by far the most laidback bar that I've been to in Dallas. I would recommend by passing the Tipperay Inn and going across the street to the Landing. Great burgers and the taps are better here (you get a better pour if you other drunks know what I mean). You can't go wrong with the Landing.

Agree with bardude. This place is an institution in my book. Good bartenders and atmosphere make this place a regular stop every week for me. The burgers rock and the Jager is COLD.
