Bellaire Broiler features simple, all-American burgers. Nothing fancy, just down home cooking and low, low prices. Mushrooms and chili are the most exotic burger toppings offered with crinkle cut fries, thick gooey shakes and fried onion rings hand dipped in a crumble crust -- the most popular side orders. Prices at the Bellaire Broiler seem to be frozen in time. The Broiler Burger Steak Special is a half pound patty slathered with barbecue sauce, accompanied by two side orders and Texas toast for less than $6 while the kiddy size burger is just over $1. And it's not just the prices that seem to come from another era. The main dining area looks like a '50s rumpus room with faded wood paneling, knickknacks filling the shelves of a room divider that separates the pickup counter from the orange vinyl booths. A television hums in the corner next to a tiny bar surrounded by four stools -- that's the smoking section. A cooler sits nearby, a couple dozen long necks, wine coolers and chilled beer mugs inside. -- Olivia Flores Alvarez

Pure Yuk
I don't have a clue as to how this place ever got nominated. I guess one has to first get over is the grease on the floors and walls seats and tables. The next thing one has to overcome is the obvious cheap meat they use. If these things can be overcome then I agree they have the best burgers in the country...
Add Commentso overrated
these burgers are the type you got at the Dairy Queen in the fifties. They may have been good compared to other burgers in the fifties, but todayu they cannot hold a cndle to Beck's and Goode's, or even Burger King.
The Best

There is no other place that can compare. If you are into chili dogs and burgers, then you have found a home.
ASTONISHED
As I've written in the past before aol rudely deleted all the postings, this place should be avoided. On rec from aol in the first place, my first visit resulted in observing a large, let us say, unidentified insect. The burgers were soggy and undercooked despite pleas for well done. If you go to Jax grill about a tenth of a mile away you'll discover what a hamburger really is. Why they didn't make the best burger list on aol is a utter mystery to me.
Old fashion good taste
Their burgers are good. The prices are good. The only problem is it's small inside and you really should eat there to get the full taste. If you take it to go the burgers get real soggy. That was the downside. I wish they had a better dinning room or figured out how to keep the burgers dry. Still they taste good.
