Welcome to Hut's Hamburgers! We are conveniently located on West 6th Street and West Avenue in Downtown Austin. Our menu has over 20 different mouthwatering hamburger choices. In addition we offer Texas natural beef, buffalo and veggie burgers! Not hungry for burgers? Choose from our sandwich menu, or try a chicken fried steak, a salad, buffalo wings, appetizers or desserts from our menu. We are casual, kid friendly and fun! Originally opened on South Congress in 1939, Hut's moved to its present location in 1969. With cozy booths and tables surrounded by paraphernalia-decked walls, it's known for doing diner food right. The All-American Buddy Holly elevates the common burger--American cheese, onions, pickles, lettuce and tomato--to new heights. Crispy onion rings and fries are a perfect salty accompaniment to the meal. A chocolate shake is a must, as is a dessert of two scoops of vanilla ice cream topped with hot fudge.

REALLY DISAPPOINTED!

New in town and heard this IS THE PLACE for a REALLY GREAT BURGER....My husband and I were really disappointed. On a scale of 1-10 we'd give it a 5 and never go back again. Nothing exciting about it AT ALL!! Wish I would have read the reviews before wasting my money on this LOUSY place! Don't bother!

mz00000013250684 - 01/22/2009Cannot seem to like this place as hard as I try. I have been there twice and had two different burgers and didn't like either one. It's way too busy of a place to serve average food.

Hut's not he best burger in Austin by far.
JFitz66 - 07/25/2008Hut's is not the best burger. I don't know how they tally this stuff up, or who votes, but the burgers that come out of there are just sub-average. THe patty is generic Sysco patty, grilled until it's drying up. And don't ive me that "try it with X or Y, you'll love it!" crap. THe burger starts with the paty, and the bun. And Hut's faisl at both. THe jalapenos, blue cheese,and other toppings on't make a great burger; it's all in the meat!
ps. Crown and Anchor make a better burger.Huts is the anti-McDonalds
Robotmeister - 07/25/2008The burgers are just what the doctor didn't order: large, messy and tasty. Made fresh too, unlike Micky D's dry , tasteless production burgers!
The fresh french fries are great but I order them cooked a little longer and the shakes & malts are real. Huts sells good food. McDonalds sells McDonalds name and is an insult to hamburger stands everywhere!- TNTaustin - 07/25/2008

Avarickmers - 07/10/2008Lived here my whole life, and it's the WORST burger joint in town. Buns have been soggy and the fries are wilted and cold EVERY time I have gone. If you like Huts then you are a lying POSER. BOOOOOOOO

I love that it has been around for so long I would love to get that guy from that food network show drive-ins dines and dives to try out their food keep on cooking and I hope your around for 100 yrs. and when you are I will be there with you to celebrate
