Comb some grease into your hair, slip on your creepers, cuff your jeans (the big cuffs), put the top down on your Coupe de Ville and head down South Congress to the Continental Club. You'll know you're there from the line of vintage cars parked out front. The Continental Club has long been ground zero for the rockabilly, surf and lounge scene in town. This place has style in spades. A red velvet curtain frames the bands that play in front of a black-and-red-checkered dance floor, while videos of '50s drag racing play above the bar. Through the years, the Continental Club has been host to such acts as Link Wray, Junior Brown and 8 1/2 Souvenirs. So come enjoy some of Austin's favorite music and do it in style.

delwingoss - 04/16/2004The Continental has been around for many years and anyone lucky enough to squeeze into Toni Price's Hippy Hour on Tuesdays can find out what put Austin on the music map. With the loss of the Armadillo,Liberty Lunch and Steam Boat, the Continental is about all that is left of the heart of Austin.

ginnycarol - 09/19/2002The Continental is still the greatest. And talk about freindly. I have gone alone and was soon partying with the regulars. Tuesdays with Toni Price are special. I can't tell you why. Just go and see what I mean. Also try it on "First Thursday".

annjane - 10/16/1999Five stars in not enough! Check out Jon Dee Graham on Wednesday nights at midnight--literally the finest bar show I've ever seen and I've seen many, many more than a few. This place is so damn cool that the only real competition they face is their own legedary status as one of the finest live music venues anywhere. I am elated to report that The Continental Club's neon lights continue to shine brilliantly from the South Congress location, honoring an ongoing commitment to great, great live music from some of the greatest musicians going anywhere. And the staff is nice too!
