We are a family owned and operated full service restaurant first started by Al Mathews back in 1957. We try to hire friendly waitresses and cooks to promote a homey atmosphere. Our kitchen is open and Bar Seating is at a premium for the view of the "Organized Chaos" that goes on during a rush. Many customers feel so much at home that we see their faces everyday, and in fact have one gentleman who calls in sick if he isn't going to show (no lie).     DFW is filled with places touted as the best-this, best that, and most are hype based on proximity (i.e., local folks raving about their neighborhood favorites. When you actually get out there and try all the burgers in the top lists, a different story usually emerges. Al's Hamburgers is absolutely top-notch and delicious. They have figured out the recipe for success and knock 'em outta the park, every day. From the meat to the bun to the chopped up fixin's, these burgers are consistently tasty. The chili and onion rings are also outstanding.

    As a member of staff, you may say that my opinion is biased, but I say that ya cannot mess with perfection! Not only does Al's have amazing burgers but a menu full of just as tasty additional items. The family-oreinted atmosphere of the place truly sets the tone as each member of the staff, management, and owners all genuinely care about each person that walks through that door, going above and beyond to make each individual feel right at home. So, come on in today and see us- bring your friends, family, or the whole office and come see what the rest of DFW is talking about.

    They are organic, HUGE, and delicious, and STECK & SHAKE in DALLAS is GREAT TOO and also has nostalgia. Their shakes are to die for....

    Al's is a fantastic breakfast place. It has wonderful burgers. We drive from Dallas for either, because we miss Al's since moving. For those who say the burgers are thin --they are, because they are lean and healthier than thick, greasy burgers. Wonderful people, fantastic service, and great food!
