While only a few blocks away from West End Avenue's chain restaurant homogeneity, ZOLA makes diners feel they've been whisked away to an unknown -- and extremely flavorful -- Mediterranean isle. Owner and chef Debra Paquette draws heavily on Spanish, Italian and French cuisine as the basis for her menu, marrying those foods with a Southern bent to create a fusion of down-home and abroad, all on the same fork. Appetizers are fittingly renamed "Provocations" on Paquette's menu, and most entrees can be prepared for vegetarians as well. The styles of the three dramatically different dining areas, including a 27-foot painting in the main dining room, allow for a variety of different dining experiences. ZOLA's wine list is a multi-time winner of Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence, but great values can be found on the docket as well. -- Lucas Hendrickson

It's romantic but not suffocating. The food was amazing and the waiter very helpful. This is not a silly cutting edge restaurant that offers minimal portions. We walked away very happy and very full with a shared appetizer and two entrees.
If you have not been there
you are cheating yourself out of a real treat. The food, the atmosphere, the staff all superb.
If you have been, and it's been a while, check out the new menu! The best in Music City
This is THE place we prefer to come for birthday or anniversary times AND it is the place we prefer for special out-of-town friends.
Zola is unique. The cuisine never disappoints.Best-kept secret
Zola is my favorite restaurant in Nashville, and certainly one of my favorites anywhere. The food is unique, and I have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is also very inviting. I recommend it to everyone who is looking for a nice place to take a date or for any other occasion.
Great Food

Zola is the most creative place in town. It can be very busy at peak hours, so I always go early or late. The feeling is intimate. I've been going there fore years and can say the chef really knows what she's doing.
