The fiery flavors here are as close to Mexico as you can get in Music City. Attracting a crowd as diverse as Nolensville Road itself, La Hacienda is famous for its fresh tortillas, fried fish and tacos. The tacos and enchiladas aren't drowning in cheese -- or grease -- an unfortunate symptom of many Amexica-style joints. Instead, enjoy authentic and inventive food peppered with fresh avacado, cilantro and the like. Choose the corn tortillas for a welcome change from flour burrito boredom, and visit the small adjoining market for take-home tortillas and tamales. Spanish flies freely in La Hacienda, and that's encouraging news for die-hard Mexican food fans. -- Malia Gail Franklin

The first real Mexican food in Gnsahville and still the best by far. Green enchiladas, huevos rancheros--I'm getting hungry!

    Enough said !!!
If you want AUTHENTIC Mexican food...look for menudo on the menu. This yummy soau/stew is a week-end dish at places where mexicans regularly eat. By the way, if you are willing to try something new, get menudo on Saturday or Sunday...it will change you life!

Accept no substitutes. This is the place all the local west coasters and Zonies will be found in. There are a ton of lame Mexican places in town (Speedy Gonzales lunch special screams run) and a few decent "authentic" types. Most of the time the food is prepared by real Mexicans but is too Americanized at these. Now Mexican food makes its self known by the many regions and the styles they offer. This place and its other locations offer foods somewhere between L.A. and Tijuana style. Very So. Cal. The menu is cool, your favorites are there as well as good strong drinks from the bar. Real soups and plenty of migra fearing diners. I have come here for almost 10 years and thank God they have more than the old 6 bar stools to sit on. I still get to the West coast a few times a year but always return and bring friends. My complaint......make a super nacho w/ everything, yes EVERYTHING.
