An East Memphis favorite, Wang's hits the spot when you've got a yen for Chinese food. Plates range from standard Asian staples like fried rice, egg fu yong and egg rolls to Mandarin specialties like savory Drunken chicken and tender Mongolian beef. While dinner is a classy affair, the lunch menu draws both students and office workers alike with more than 25 entrees for under $6 apiece. Evening entertainment runs the full musical gamut including blues, jazz and lounge standards. -- Andria Lisle

greasy

The Sesame chicken was greasy and the sauce was separated. Also I did take out and the quantity was very small compared to every other Chinese Restaurant I have ever tried. I am not impressed with Memphis Chinese. I lived in Birmingham for 18 years and the food was much better there.

New Asia or Royal Panda better
I've not been overly impressed with Wang's, although I have a friend who is a chef who has Wang's and Royal Panda (Germantown) on his list of "return to" restaurants. I just tried Royal Panda for dinner a few nights ago and it was very good. Our party of eight received good service (not outstanding on timing, the server needed help, but polite) and the food was hot, plentiful and delicious. My favorite for lunch is New Asia in Germantown. No buffet, thankfully, for Asian food is best fresh from the kitchen to table (not the steam table). The lunch menu is extensive and very reasonably priced.
Ok for Memphis
Being a Native of Chicago this restaurant was less than the best. The service was not so great and the food was sub-par. However, I've tried many chinese restaurants in Memphis, and this was was the best that I've had thus far.
