The bright yellow house beams like a runaway piece of sunshine that settled down on Poplar Avenue and decided to open a restaurant. The hardwood floors creak under your feet as you are lead through the sunshine colored parlors decorated with blue and white china. Your waitress takes your drink orders and places a basket full of mouth watering homemade biscuits and corn bread at your table for you to nibble on as you check out the menu. Breakfast is served all day here, from omelets to fried steak to eggs of every variety. VBrinkman24 - 07/01/2008I am from south alabama and have experienced some really good breakfasts, but none guite as good as Blue Plate Cafe. We have been to Memphis on several occasions for dance competions with Tremaine Dance Conventions. My son will graduate this year and will not be returning to dance, but I will return to Memphis. Blue Plate Cafe will be one of my places to eat while I visit Memphis. Keep up the great cooking.

Ddrichmondart - 06/27/2008these are the best biscuits ever, my Mom could never do this. The omlets are huge as are all portions of everything. No wonder the manager told me they have few to no skinny customers. I ate like I was in a truck stop and I can honestly say I will return every chance I get. They arer the BEST.

max4du - 12/31/2006Stopped in on a Sunday. Line out the door, but 10 minutes Family an myself seated and order taken, food came fast, and was great. First time in and this will become our weekend restaurant. I just can't believe I found a place that has home cooking, fast, friendly, inexpensive, and taste great. This is one of the best kept secerts in Memphis.
