Matsu rarely has an empty table. That's because this hip Huntington Beach sushi parlor on busy Beach Boulevard is a great place to gather with friends or enjoy a romantic dinner for two. The restaurant boasts soothing Japanese music and female servers that look as if they might have been cast as extras in the film 'Memoirs of a Geisha.' The sushi is always fresh and perfectly assembled, while the drinks play an equally important role at Matsu with chilled Ginjo sake presented in a glass bowl and piping hot sake placed in a traditional tokkuri. Matsu proves to be a tour de force among sushi restaurants.

The Quality has always been tops.
Complaining about seating and parking is not too
bright because you cannot eat those items, if you want foo.overrated

skmutch - 02/13/2007We have been eating at Matsu for 12 years now. We dine out frequently and this is still one of our favorite hotspots. No matter what day of the week you try to go, you definately need to make a reservation. Sometimes there's not even standing room in the bar.
Sushi is incredibly fresh, Tepan Fillet is awesome. Definately try the Fried Calamari or the scallops appetizer. Both are delicious.
This is a restaurant that will please anyone. Great for large parties.Matsu is THE BEST
