Since it opened its doors in the early 1950s, this family-run establishment has been one of the most popular steakhouses in St. Paul. In contrast to some of the big-name restaurants in the Twin Cities, Mancini's provides top-quality meat at reasonable prices. The steak fillet is as tender and tasty as those found at the ritzy expense-account hangouts, but they don't skimp on the amenities here. Diners are greeted with bowls of peperoncini, pickles and sliced tomatoes marinated in garlicky dressing. Meals come with baskets of "char bread" (Italian bread toasted on the grill and coated with garlic butter), plus salad and a potato. The atmosphere is casual and family-friendly; owner Nick Mancini greets kids warmly and often gives them free slices of cake. The restaurant is enormous, with dining rooms going off in every direction. The large attached cocktail lounge has a massive big-screen TV and live entertainment several nights a week. -- Heather Rose Henderson

The meat isn't the same quality, "tougher" service is poorer.
You'd think after so many years they'd at least upgrade the 20 yr old salad bowls.
Whatever happened to Lindey's Steak House, they used to be the very best?
