Grandview Avenue is famous for two things: its spectacular panorama and some of the top dining in the city. Combine the two and you get the Grandview Saloon, a two-tier lounge designed to show off the scenery -- especially after sunset, when the lights of skyscrapers reflect from the water around the Point. In the warmer months, take advantage of the saloon's pride and joy: a large, sturdy deck built into the hillside, where the breeze is perfect and the city sprawls romantically toward the horizon. After a day negotiating the sloped, European-style streets of Mt. Washington, you'll be ready for happy hour, from 4 to 6PM. Follow your cocktail with a mouthwatering filet mignon, Delmonico steak or chicken czarina. Grandview Saloon can accommodate large groups as well, making it a cheerful, versatile spot for elegant dates, business meetings, an anniversary bash or a simple after-work Corona.

Never Again
We came to the restaurant with a party of 10. We were told a 30% gratuity would be added. It was birthday party we brought a cake 25.00 charge to bring your cake. We have our own cake and you can buy ours.
I had the New york strip. lots of fat and poor taste. wasted 35.00. The sirloin had by one member in our group was very good.
The bartenders downstairs were great and friendly. The staff upstairs was cold.
If you want a good steak go the the Long Horn.
I will never return. 0 Star rating. Pass the rolaids.Comments(0)|Add CommentMOST HORRIBLE DINING EXPERIENCE!
MOST HORRIBLE DINING EXPERIENCE!!!
Coal Hill Steakhouse came highly recommended to us from a friend who had eaten there 3 days prior to our reservation. Due to the high recommendation, and having family in from out of town, we decided to show off our beautiful city and make Mothers Day Reservations. The hostess that took our reservation was very sociable, friendly and more than accommodating, unfortunately that's where the warm welcome stopped! We were seated by the window as requested (party of 10 adults and 2 children) and greeted by a waitress who failed to tell us her name. Upon her taking drink orders, we learned they were out of fresh brewed iced tea. I inquired about a childrens menu (2 children -ages 8 and 6) and was told "we don't have childrens menus but feel free to order off the adult menu!'" Upon placing their order and asking to split the meal between them, I was told there would be a $10.00 plate charge, unless I ordered them 1 extra side dish to cover some of the cost. I understood the additional charges, but it was Mothers Day and one should be able to celebrate with their small children and be accommodated accordingly. The meal continued to spiral out of control. The restaurant had then run out of not one, but three different brands of salad dressing, baked pototaes, and multiple dessert items. When asked if the waitress could bring anything else, I replied "another Mother's Day Dinner, and the owners telephone number!" The waitress returned very teary eyed. I did, as well as other family members apologize to her for being so upset, and she replied "It's not your fault, the chef is yelling at me to take care of this situation, and I am just the messenger!" The end result was the chef/manager/owner, did offer us free desserts but they we quite limited as to availability (no dessert menu either) and then all were still not delivered to table as ordered. When asked to see the owner, we were told he was "too busy" cooking for everyone in the restaurant (all 26 people including our 12)! We paid the bill accordingly, but should not have! The total bill due was $411.63 and was not worth it at all! I did attempt to contact the owner days later, and was told "He wasn't dealing with me, and restaurants do run out of things. I made his waitress cry and please do not intend to revisit." When I assured him, an apology came from me to the waitress and it was the waitree that told the entire table that the owner/chef made her cry," he found that unbelievable. What a horrific experience! Do yourself and family a favor -- spend your time and money where outstanding service is provided and you can be respected for your hard earned money-- STAY AWAY from the Coal HIll Steakhouse and let your friends know just the same!HORRIBLE!!!!
Simply put; this is the worst "steakhouse" I've ever been to. And it is waaaay over-priced. However, the bar staff and general ambience at the bar is pleasant.
Rude owners and overpriced
I made reservations for my family (8 ADULTS) at your site with Jasmine, she took my reservation, I told her we are going to celebrate my husbandâs birthday. I requested a window seat and could you please recognize my husband with a small dessert to sing happy birthday. She said no problem, she would take care of that (especially because it was a Monday and not very crowded). We were seated by the window (with the large busy flies) and I thought we would have a great dinner. Well, one of the steaks ordered was to be medium rare but came out medium, the waitress took the steak and said no problem she would ask the chef to make one more rare but the chef/manager cooked the steak to medium well done. Everyone was finished eating before the steak hit the table. We asked to speak to the manager and Kelly P came back and said we could but we would have to go down stairs at the hostess stand to talk to him, he was the cook as well as the manager. Peter Clark was extremely rude and unprofessional (he should stay in the backyard to cook) and told us we were wrong, and he cooked the steak rare and that he cut into the filet which he did not! He said a description of how steaks are cooked was on the menu and we said it was not but he told us YES it is, inferring once again the guest is wrong! We checked the menu and told him it is not on there and he replied "it used to be".
Peter Clark, Sous Chef and Manager needs some knowledge on how to treat guests. I am so disappointed for the treatment my family has received and the lack of concern for us as the guest.THIS PLACE ROCKS!!!!
This place is so nice compared to the stuffy standards of most steakhouses! I can walk in this place in my pajamas almost and be treated like a king and be served the most mouthwatering steak and lobster you could ever imagine. I can not believe that anyone would not like this steakhouse. I have been there countless times and consistency is always on point here! Steak eaters....YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF TO TRY THIS PLACE OUT!!!!!
