Located on the south bank of Tempe Town Lake, Monti's is a Valley institution and a popular date spot. The restaurant occupies an authentic adobe house constructed by the town's founder back in 1871. Old frontier photos line the walls and a courtyard fountain, which used to occupy the house's outdoor garden, lends Old World elegance. Filet mignon and a 32 oz. sirloin for two are the house specialties, served with garden salad and crispy, hot baguettes. Top off a decadent dinner with peach cobbler or a brownie oozing with warm chocolate filling.

Mediocre food at fair prices served in a historic building but I have always felt it is a little bit dirty...usually food on the floor. This is definitely not your high end steak house, which is good, but the food and decor are nothing special either.

The food here is very expensive. No, I didn't get the steak (which is what they're supposed to be known for), but I got fettucine alfredo and it was nothing special. Everyone else in my party got steak and none of them said it was anything special. One person in the party said there was a lot of fat on his steak. Also, his 1 bottle of Budweiser cost $4.50. The bread you get before your meal was the best tasting item! I wouldn't recommend it and I don't think we'll be going back anytime soon.
