Message from Ruth's Chris Steak House

Sophisticated American restaurant chain serves up corn-fed USDA prime cuts and New Orleans-style appetizers and sides.
Ruth's Chris Steak House is the place that showed the world how great a steak can be. Steaks are carefully selected and aged for tenderness, cut thick to ensure juiciness and seared to perfection at 1800 degrees. It's seasoned simply with salt, black pepper and a touch of parsley, because a steak like this needs nothing else. It's also topped with fresh butter that sizzles seductively on your plate, announcing the arrival of a great steak. At Ruth's Chris, sizzle is more than the mouthwatering sound that accompanies your steak from the broiler to the table. Here, sizzle is a state of mind, an attitude, a personality that could have only been born in New Orleans. As Ruth Fertel once said, "It's the sizzle that sets us apart from the stuffy, stodgy, old-line steak houses. You have a great steak at Ruth's Chris, but you also have a great time, and you always leave with great memories."Visit Citysearch.com

In Short
This offshoot of a popular New Orleans hangout for politicians features decor of dark woods and comfortable booths, with a separate bar scene. Choice cuts of custom-aged beef arrive in sizzling butter on 500-degree plates. The menu also offers chicken, pork and seafood entrees along with Creole appetizers like shrimp remoulade. Family-style sides include gargantuan onion rings, creamed spinach and various styles of potatoes. Traditional homemade desserts like cheesecake and bread pudding conclude the meal.

It's not on the menu, but consider ordering your steak "Oscar style," which means it's topped with asparagus, crab cakes and bearnaise sauce.

The first time I dined here, years ago, the steak was fantastic and the service excellent. When last I ate here, I had to send the steak back 3 times to have it done properly. The service was below standard, and others at our large table were also dissatisfied. I won't be coming here again. This was once a premier steakhouse. What happened?

I THINK I LIKED IT BETTER IN THE 70'S WHEN IT WAS THE STEAK HOUSE, WHERE U COULD SEE UR STEAKS BEING GRILLED.

We have been before in this restaurant not only for Restaurant Week but also to celebrate anniversaries and special occasions. We have always think that this place is the best steakhouse in the City and we go to spend a good time during a very special moment. However, after yesterday visit we have decided that we will look for another place for future restaurant week and most important to celebrate any good moment.

We ordered the Cesar Salad, Petite Filet (which should be called Mini Petite Filet) and the Warm Apple Crumb Tart. First, it looks like the place is running out of crotons as we only got two per salad. Second, the Filet wasn't the same as offered in your menu. As I said, I have been before for restaurant week and you gave the real 8 oz filet. Yesterday, I think the steak was close to 6 oz or less. Finally, for the dessert you decided that giving the real Warm Apple is too much for restaurant week (my wife and I love this dessert) so you took one and sliced in four and gave a piece to each customer.

I felt insulted!!!! Your restaurant attitude was so pity that you can forget us as customers for any occasion. If you do not want to do restaurant week just do not do it!!! If you see this event as giving charity to poor people and visit your place well you have lost two customers that try to go and celebrate special moments in your place.

I hope the Center City District take action and eliminate this place for future events.
