Forget your cholesterol count for just a moment and embrace the ambience and food of the River Palm Terrace, one of New Jersey's finest steakhouses. The River Palm claims that only one percent of all the beef raised in America is suitable for use in its restaurants. That means quality is paramount here, while the rest of the steakhouse experience is par for the course: cherry wood dining room punctuated by crisp white tablecloths, French onion soup and sliced beefsteak tomato and Bermuda onion salad, a la carte sides of cottage fries and creamed or garlic-sauteed spinach. You could always order veal or lobster, but the point here is really to choose your favorite cut of beef, be it decadent porterhouse or marbled NY shell steak. After dinner there's extra creamy cheescake, chocolate or Grand Marnier souffles or key lime pie to enjoy. WHEN WE TRAVEL AND RETURN TO NJ THE FIRST ONE WE GO TO IS THE PALM , NOT JUST FOR THE GREAT FOOD BUT JUST AS IMPORTANT IS THEY REMEMBER AVERY GUEST IN MOST CASES YOUR DRINKS OR COCKTAILS.

wonderful dining
Evanmyles17 - 06/11/2008The steaks are delicious and cooked to order.The quality of the veal chops and lamb chops are as good as you will find anywhere. We go to the Fairlawn site because the tables are spaced and you have your privacy. The service is excellent and the manager and hostesses are wonderful people. We are there at least three times a month. I've been to most of the fine steak houses in the city and none are better then the River Palm Terrace.

Dewlandjr - 06/11/2008Ive eaten at EVERY steakhouse in NJ and no doubt the food is good , but if you have a reservation to eat at 8 , youre eating at 10. Why give a resravation!! The wait is long because they are GREEDY and OVERBOOK every night. Instead of being honest and ruining a good night out. By the way the drinks and food are very pricy and no compensation for being packed in like sardines at the bar or tables. I would honestly NEVER go back again , and i gave them 3 opportunites , figuring it was a fluke.

LKGEO316 - 06/11/2008I have eaten some of the finest resturants around the world and I must say this is # 1 for me and my family. I must say that those who complain about the wait and service don't dine out much. You try the finest resturants and you will see that the River Palm is EXCELLANT!! The owners Joe & John are two classy people who put out a fine product. I must give exceptional praise to the Chef in Mahwah,when I had a question about how something was prepared he took the time visited my table (Tony), a real gentelman. I have nothing but praise for the River Palm and I suggest if you want a great meal give them a try.
