Aside from a few renovations here and there, the overall decor of the venerable River North steakhouse has not changed since it opened in 1941. Gene & Georgetti's expansion to a second level, however, has doubled its occupancy as steak- and Italian-cuisine lovers pack in daily for hearty portions of both. From legendary entertainers and professional athletes (Jackie Mason, Frank Sinatra) to conventioneers in town for major events, the restaurant has always been a big draw for those with deep pockets. Strong recommendations include the porterhouse, chicken Vesuvio, garbage salad and pork chops.

Gaeal - 11/03/2009Every time I come to Chicago GENE & GEORGETTI'S is the first Restaurant we go to. We moved to Ft. Lauderdale 19 years ago, and we still miss it. Wish they would open another Restaurant down here.

The best Veal chops west of the Mississippi!
Njkaplanis - 07/10/2008I was amazed and the chef even accepted a tip for my dish involving blackened garlic, which everyone at our table enjoyed. We'll be back in town this August and this will be our first stop for dinner. 5 or 6 of us!
