Located in the former home of Figs restaurant, the Metropolitan Club offers moneyed Newtonites a stylish culinary playground. With food and liquor pairings, designer cocktails and stylish lighting and furniture, the bar area is as modern as any in the city. The Food
The Met's menu meshes standard steakhouse items with high-concept touches. This approach yields dry-aged cuts of sirloin, plated with colorful spears of carrots or turnips and squiggles of beet alioli. Unique starters include Caprese salad with fried green tomatoes, and pan-seared watermelon "steak" with fresh feta. Savory monkfish osso buco and homemade penne carbonara with pancetta and peas are examples of non-bovine entrees available.
