When it comes to ambience and decor, Sharkeez is very typical of the type of trendy youth-oriented bar and grill that has lined downtown Huntington Beachs Main Street for decades. The furnishings are mixed: part Polynesian hut, part postmodern lounge. The interior dining space is narrow and cozy with an air of animation, but the most desirable spot (day or night) is on the patio -- and Sharkeez arguably has the best patio on Main Street. Its lined with large plasma screens, dozens of speakers and a lighting rig which emits fantastic mood lighting. The menu is all over the place: Tex-Mex, surf and turf, sophisticated pub food and breakfast served all day. If youre overwhelmed, go with the very affordable giant gourmet burritos -- most notably the coastal lobster burrito which weighs in at close to five pounds.
