Rutgers has two fraternity rows, and the one with the better parties is arguably Easton Avenue, which is lined not by frat houses but by bars that function as frat homes away from home. The same experience -- and it's a good experience -- can be had at all of them: cheap, cheap drinks, perhaps some beer-absorbent food, and either sports on TV or dance beats on pump. Where Olde Queens has the edge over neighbors is in the drinks: From cocktails to beer happy hours, the daily drink specials are almost dangerously good and cheap, and when paired with equally inexpensive burgers, pizza, hot dogs and the like, that value makes Olde Queens hard to beat. Yes, Olde Queens gets crowded, aggressive and very loud on weekends. Still, this is the class of the Easton Avenue scene, so if you want to see how Scarlet Knights go about getting themselves so rosy, you'll be well-served to stop in and get an Olde School education.
