This bistro-slash-sports bar turns out to be tucked into the East Hanover Ramada Inn, right off the river of traffic and strip malls that is, yes, Route 10 West. It somehow attempts to pull off the dubious double play of offering reasonably fancy food (the usual burgers, salads, steaks, seafood) at night, as well as being a place for conventioneers to enjoy the game on Sunday. But let's be honest: Despite some nicely polished-up bar areas and corner furnishings, this is no bistro yet. A definite beer-and-pretzels atmo predominates throughout, from the football-helmet beer lights to the posters of cheerleaders to the Jets taps. Strangely, a Penn State U.-and-Miami Dolphins theme also runs through the place -- must be an inside giggle, but we didn't get it. (Still, gotta admit the framed signed posters of all those hulking Penn State football guys are impressive.) And the weirdest feature of all: a faux beach patio right out by the roaring highway, complete with little tiki torches and fake palm trees. What a great place for some Hawaiian beach volleyball! Um, yeah.
